Mysti Rainwater is a Licensed Professional Counselor(www.mystirainwater.info.  She is co-operator of Affiliated Psychotherapists, an association of independent counselors sharing resources to proficiently serve community mental health needs in the greater Phoenix area, and owner of Center for Progressive Therapies (www.centerprogressive.com), an institute assisting individuals in making difficult and potentially life-altering decisions such as partner, family and life planning; human sexuality; religious, spiritual and cultural options; career choices; substance use; as well as decisions regarding physical, emotional and financial balance and well-being.  Ms. Rainwater holds a specialty certification in Multisystemic Therapy through the Multisystemic Therapy Institute with pending certifications in Sex Therapy through the American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors, and Therapists; and Nurtured Heart Approach through the Howard Glasser Institute.

Ms. Rainwater works with individuals, couples, families and business groups using a unique “progressive approach” to problem solving and decision making incorporating personality and communication style with family and cultural influences,  Many former clients report that they have been able to move forward positively in relationships (interpersonal, intimate, parent-child and occupational) with the use of increased healthy, effective communication skills gained through this approach.  Ms. Rainwater is active in community events and participates in local writing and speaking opportunities as well as serving on the board of a local company working to increase support to pregnant teenagers.  She is married with two children and practices the holistic method of health she teaches (balance of physical, financial and emotional factors).  Ms. Rainwater has been providing training and counseling services for over 20 years and is known for her direct, compassionate approach to personal and family concerns.  She is known for her inspiring, yet practical approach to problem conceptualization and offers speaking engagements to small groups and businesses for problem solving and communication training. She has a private practice in the Ahwatukee area of Phoenix, Arizona, where she practices psychotherapy, training/coaching and consultation as well as supervision of therapists in training and accepts most insurance.
